We have done this combined tour program of Myanmar and Yunnan as it is bordered with Myanmar and there is directed flight to Kumming from Mandalay. Yunnan province is so attracted with its lakes, mountains and rice terraces on the mountains. In effect Yunnan is a mountainous frontier province with 25 ethnic groups.

Your tour will start from Yangon, Myanmar. Visit great Shwedagon pagoda and experience the colonial atmosphere in the downtown of Yangon. You fly to Inle which is well known for it stilt houses villages and Intha lifestyles. You will fly then to Bagan, the biggest archaeological in South-east Asia with over 3000 ancient red temples of 11 century. From Bagan, you will cruise in the Ayeyarwaddy to reach the cultural city of Mandalay. Visit Amarapura, Ava, sagaing and Mingun. Then you will fly directly to Kumming, China.

You will begin Kumming visit and its region. 270 millions age of Stone Forest (stones in various shape covering a hundreds km) is a must to visit as it is one of the earth’s natural wonders. Discover the great history of Dali and explore the Old Town in Dali. You will see the another ethnic who are still wearing its traditional costume. You will discover the another great culture of Naxi ethnic in Lijiang, situated 2400m above sea level.

Details Itinerary

Day 1. Arrival in Yangon, Myanmar
Arrival in Yangon! Our guide will meet you at the airport and transfer to your hotel. Overnight in Yangon!

Day 2. in Yangon
In the morning your tour guide will take you full day sightseeing in Yangon. The tour starts at the city centre; You will be firstly introduced the Buddhism at the gilded Sule pagoda, dating back to 2000 years, next to the British-Burmese style city hall, then stroll around the colonial buildings and street vendors along the road. After visiting Botataung Pagoda where you can see the relief chamber inside the pagoda, visit Kyauk-htet-gyi reclining Buddha, Karaweik Hall to observe the Burmese architecture, visit China Town and magnificent Shwe-da-gon Pagoda in the late evening. Overnight in Yangon!

Day 3. Yangon-Heho-Inle
Today you fly to Heho, upon arrival, transfer to Inle Lake by car. On the way, photo stop at Shwe-yan-pyay wooden monastery. You arrive at the jetty to transfer to your Hotel on the lake by motor boat. Explore the floating gardens and stilt-house villages, jumping cat monastery (ngaphe) and village life at Khaung-dein village. Go back to Hotel. Overnight in Inle!

Day 4. Inle - Indein
You take a boat ride to Indein through the floating garden, rice field, bamboo forest and monasteries. Very nice boat ride along the stream. Arrive at Indein pagoda complex, 1094 small temples around the main temple. Go back to the lake for Lunch. After lunch continue your tour to Inn-paw-kone village to visit silk weaving, Lotus weaving, cheroot workshop, blacksmith and the most venerated Phaw-daw-oo pagoda. Onvernight in Inle

Day 5. -Inle-Bagan
After breakfast, explore the Inle region on motor boat. Then you leave Inle in the afternoon to take the flight to Bagan . Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel and overnight in Bagan!

Day 6.- in Bagan
Visit Nyaung Oo Market, Shwe-zi-gon Pagoda, the most venerated one, Gu-pyauk gyi temple with its very nice original fresco, Hti-lo-min-lo Temple, Kah-min-ga for panoramic view, Ananda Temple which is famous for its finest art. After lunch, visit to the traditional Lacquer- ware workshop to observe how they make good quality Lacquer products, Manuhar Temple, where three huge seated Buddha and reclining Buddha are placed, Gubyauk gyi to see the finest Fresco in Bagan temples, Shwe-gu-gyi which offers you the best panoramic view at the evening. Then take a horse cart to Pya-that -gyi for sunset. Overnight in Bagan!

Day 7.Bagan-Mt Popa-Bagan
Depart for mt Popa. It takes about 1 ½ hours from Bagan to get there. Stop at the the local palm sugar work to see the process of making palm sugar and Popa village on the way to Mt Popa. Popa area grows plenty of trees, medicine plants and flowers due to the fertile soil from the volcanic ash in the desert-like the dry zone of central Myanmar. Take 777 steps to the top and enjoy the panoramic view of the Popa region. (Possibility to have the tea time or lunch at Popa mountain resort from the pleasent panoramic view of Mt Popa.) Return to Bagan in the afternoon and visit some beautiful temples such as Su-lar-ma-ni, Dha-ma-yan-gyi in the evening until sunset. Overnight in Bagan!

Day 8. Bagan- Mandalay
Early morning, you will be transferred to the jetty for cruising to Mandalay, the second largest city Mandalay which is Burmese cultural centre.. It takes about 9 hours to arrive in Mandalay. Lunch will be on Board. Enjoy your journey along the countryside panorama. Relax and get nice sunbathing on board. Transfer to the hotel in the late evening. Overnight in Mandalay!

Day 9. Mandalay
After breakfast, dive to Amarapura. Visit U Pein teak bridge, silk weaving workshop and Mahar Gandaryon monastery, where over 1000 monks live, observe the monk life there. Then drive to Mandalay to check in your hotel. After lunch, continue your sightseeing to Mandalay royal Palace, Shwe Nan Daw monastery, the original building of Palace, Kutho Taw pagoda, the world’s biggest book and Sandar-muni Pagoda for taking nice photo from there, then drive up the Mandalay hill to enjoy the panoramic view of the city and sunset. Overnight in Mandalay!

Day 10. Mandalay-Ava-Sagaing
After breakfast, visit famous Mahar-muni Pagoda, stone carving, gold leaf work shop and Shwe-in-bin monastery. Continue your sightseeing to Ava. Ava is situated another side of small river. Across the river by local boat and take Ava sightseeing on horse cart. Visit Mel Nu monastery; built in 1818,Lay-htet-gyi pagoda, 14 century pagoda in square shape, Old Watchtower of ancient palace, teak wooden Ba-ga-yar monastery supported by 267 teak posts. Return back and continue to Sagaing sightseeing including U Min 30 and Sagaing hill. Visit one of the monastery of the Buddhist nun to see their daily activities and silver work shop in Sagaing. Then ahead to Mandalay and enjoy the sunset at U Pein Bridge on the way. Check in the hotel depends on your arrival. Overnight in Mandalay.

Day 11. Mandalay-Kumming
After breakfast, city tour in Mandalay in the morning and fly to Kunming in the evening which is known as Spring City, meet at airport and transfer to your hotel. If time permits, visit Yunnan Ethnic Village Park. Overnight in Kumming!

Day 12. Kunming
Then depart for Stone Forest, (270 millions age of stones in various shape covering a hundreds km). It is one of the earth’s natural wonders. Wander in the stone forest and enjoy the natural scenery. Contact the colourful local Sani People living around. And visit Jiuxiang Caves, the Black Stone Forest, the Dadieshui Waterfall, the Changhu Lake (Long Lake), and the Ziyundong (Purple Clouds) Cave.Return to Kumming and Overnight in Kumming!

Day 13. Kumming - Dali
Fly to Dali in the early morning. Upon arrival, visit Erhai Lake Park to enjoy the scenery of Erhai Lake which means ear shaped sea in Chinese. Afterwards, pay a visit to the Three Pagoda Temple with its history of more than 1,800 years. Then explore the Old Town, South City gate to North City Gate of Dali, including the local market and meet with the local people in Dali who are still wearing their ethnic costumes. Overnight in Dali!

Day 14. Dali - Lijiang
En route (3-4 h) to Lijiang, Visit the Bai Minority Traditional Houses in Xizhou on the way with the features of wood and stone carvings which are well preserved. After check in the hotel in Lijiang, visit the Square Street of Lijiang Old Town. Lijiang Old Town was listed as a world cultural heritage site by UNESCO. Overnight in Lijiang!

Day 15. Lijiang
After breakfast, vist Naxi family and Baisha Village which is famous for the murals and the old town built about 600 years ago. Then, continue to Baisha Murals which show the Han, Tibet and Naxi culture together. Then visit the Baisha Embroidery Store and the Rock Joseph's Former Residence in Yuhu Village. Free time to shopping and explore the town in the afternoon. Overnight in Lijiang!

Day 16. Lijiang - Kumming
Fly back to Kumming in the morning. Upon arrival, visit Yunnan Minorities Museum and Golden Temple located on the hill and which is the largest bronze-made temple in China and Jingxing Flowers and Birds Market. Then Daguan Park. Overnight in Kumming!

Day 17: Departure
Transfer to airport before your return flight home. Your excellent Myanmar Yunnan Trip is ended !!
