Hlaw-gar Park

It is located 35 km North of Yangon, established in 1982. The park includes 818 acres of wildlife zone, 62 acres of mini zoo and 660 acres of buffer zone. It represents the collection of Myanmar indigenous species of mammals, reptiles and birds.
One can observe the many different kinds of deer and enjoy the elephant ride, bird watching activities here, not very far from Yangon.

Moeyungyi Wetlands and Birds sanctuary

Moeyungyi wetland is located 112 km from Yangon, covering 40 sq miles. It was created by the British colonial administration in the late 19 century to collect the rain water to float down logs from the Bago Mountain ranges. Later it naturally changed into wetlands, which was established as wildlife sanctuary in 1986.

The wetland inhabits 125 water bird species including the migrant birds, such as Asian Open-bill, Little Grebe, Spot-billed Pelican, Eurasian Woodcocks, Woolly necked-stock, etc. November to March is the best season to visit there.

Myaing-hay-wun Elephant camp

It is located 116 km from Yangon, in Taik-kyi Township. Here one can learn about the elephant (how to capture the wild elephants, training elephants and their activities) and daily life of the mahouts. One can enjoy the elephant ride and hiking in the forest.

The elephant camp trip can be easily combined with a visit to Moeyungyi Wetlands.

Yangon_Hlawga_Moe-yun-gyi_birds sanctuary_Elephant camp_Yangon (2days/1night)

Day 1
After one hour drive from Yangon, you will arrive in Hlawgar Park, where you can see the resident birds such as flowers pecker, Bee-eater, pale capped pigeon, Tree-pie, etc. After visiting the park, continue to Moe-yun-gyi wetlands for 2 hours drive. The sanctuary covers 40 sq miles and inhabits 125 species of water birds and migrant birds. Watch the birds along the shore of the lake such as Wagtails, Pipits, Golden plovers, etc. Overnight in resort

Day 2
Early morning watch the some of wetland birds such as Asian open bill, Crane, Painted stock, etc. Then continue to Elephant camp. Observe about the elephant and daily life of mahouts families. Evening you will go back to Yangon.

Nat Ma Taung National Park

It covers an area of 279 sq miles, located in Southern Chin State near the third highest mountain Mt Victoria or Nat Ma, 3054m (10018 ft) high. The nature is perfect with mountain, river and streams, evergreen forest, wildlife such as tiger, bear, wild boar, leopard, gibbon, etc. and 159 bird species. Reptiles and butterfly are present and the most attractive orchids are found in this area.

It is a very good way to observe the exotic flora and fauna, wildlife, bird watching, the local Chin tribes while trekking around. It can be reached by jeep from Bagan.
 

Bagan_Kanpetlet_Mindet_Pauk_Bagan extension trip from Bagan (4days/4nights)

Day 1 (Bagan_Kanpetlet)
Drive to Kanpetlet for about 8 hours, a beautiful village located on the top of mountain range, about 1400m above sea level. Both sides are deep velly. The temperature is cool and very pleasant. Lunch will be on the way and overnight in Kanpetlet.

Day 2 (Kanpetlet_Ayesakan)
After breakfast, drive about 11 km to the trekking point. Trek for about an hour to explore the Chin tribes with tattooed face. Then return back to the junction and continue to drive 22 km to the Mt Victoria area, 1737 m above sea level, where you can observe the 159 species of bird and exotic flora and fauna. Lunch will be at Victoria junction and overnight Ayesakan village.

Day 3 (Ayesakan_Mindet)
After 30 minutes from Ayesakan, trek about an hour to Chin village and have lunch at the village. Continue to trek for 1 hours along the small river and you will get back to your Jeep. Then drive to Mindet for about 30 minutes through the magnificent view of hilly region. Explore the local tribes and their way of life. Dinner and overnight at local Guest house

Day 4 (Mindet_Pauk_Bagan)
Drive back to Bagan through the Pon Taung and Pon Nyar mountains region, which is famous for its fossils of animals such as pig, turtle, rhinoceros, etc. discovered by the international team, which are 35 to 50 millions years old. Have lunch at Pauk and after 2 hours drive from there, you will proceed to across the Ayeyarwaddy by boat. Dinner and overnight in Bagan
